Stafilos

The beach called Stafilos is the nearest beach from the city of Skopelos as it is only 4 kilometers far from the hotels in the city of Skopelos. It is a beautiful gulf with a unique sandy beach and crystal blue waters. It is one of the most “socialite” beaches of the island. You can find two restaurants, deck-chairs and umbrellas and leasable rooms. Do not forget to visit the famous Stafilos’ cave. The beach was named after the legendary Prince Stafilos, whose grave was found at the small naze at the coastline with the golden sword which is being exposed at the archaeological museum of Athens. According to the legend Prince Stafilos, who was king Dionysos’ and Ariadni’s son, settled in Skopelos in 1600 b.C.
