The first years of its function it employed 125 -150 people and it had an installed capacity of 150 horsepower which had a simultaneous production in electric current for the needs of the factory.

In 1928 the factory was extended. The installed capacity came to 300 horsepower, the staff was 200 -250 employees. The factory produced different types of tiles(tiles with eight holes, with six, solid), French type tiles (Marseille), Greek type tiles(Byzantine).

The annual production of the factory came up from 8.000.000 to 9.000.000 pieces of different types. The production of the factory was interrupted twice. The first interruption was during the Second World War and the second at the earthquakes in1955 when it was pretty damaged. The restoration of these damages was unfortunately done cursorily, using wooden constructions for the buildings and with patents for the engineering equipment. In the 1960s the factory interrupted the production of the electrical current for its needs and it gets connected to the National Power System. At the same period electrically driven equipment was bought for the processing of the matter and the production of bricks and tiles. The staff was cut back on 80 employees.

In 1975 Tsalapata factory definitely stopped its function due to the competence and the accumulated economical demands. In 1944 the Municipality of Volos bought the block from the successors in the line of the URBAN program and later the Municipal Enterprise of Studying constructions in Volos planned the studies for the restoration of the place, the mechanical equipment as well as the integration of the new uses.
