Women’s agricultural-tourist association in Portaria in Pelion

The women’s agricultural-tourist association in Portaria in Pelion which is called “Portaria” is located in Portaria and sets out all over Magnesia. It was founded in1997 by women in Portaria who wanted to take advantage of their copies already found in their drawers, passing on the gastronomic tradition of the region. At the same time they recruited all the women of the region to take part. Today the Association has 35 members. On a daily basis women work at the two workshops they have, one of which was created by Leader program (A place to exhibit their products was created as well). There is the old exhibition at the center of the village as well. In the beginning they produced traditional sweets and marmalades by using fruit collected at the region, while today it produces a great variety of products without preservatives and colours.
